About Me.

Picture

Matthew McKeon M.S. CCC-SLP
Founder and CEO

I chose Speech Therapy because I wanted to have a career helping people.  I believe I have met this goal many times over but there will always be more work.

I am a proud local business owner, Speech Therapist, Voice Therapist, Adjunct professor, advocate, support group leader, speaker and consultant to regional and national non-profits.

I graduated with a Masters in Health Science in Speech Language Pathology in 2004 from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.  I moved to Northern VA in 2007 and currently reside in West Springfield VA with my wife and two daughters.

I've been providing patient-centered speech therapy to individuals for over 20 years.

I was recruited for and volunteered my expertise on the executive committee and board of directors of a National non-profit organization.

I was recruited for and taught "Voice and Diction" at George Washington University

I've volunteered my time to provide multiple webinars for Non-Profits on topics such speech disorders, voice disorders, swallowing disorders, and even "finding self-acceptance" when living with a chronic condition.

I've lead more than 1,500 voice practice and support group meetings for people with chronic health conditions.

I've raised ~ $180,000 for our local Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area (PFNCA) to expand their wonderful exercise programs.

I've been the lead Speech-Language-Pathologist of outpatient speech therapy departments and team lead for Parkinson care teams.

I've served as a consultant to local health care companies to educate and train their staff on the complexities of Parkinson's disease.

Community programs I created for PFNCA in 2011 to guard against the advancement of speech, voice, and swallowing disorders in Parkinson's disease still exists today In person and via ZOOM.

I've won the "Sodexo Health Care CARES Award," a peer nominated award for going above and beyond expectations to help my clients.

In my spare time I enjoy revisiting my childhood with my two young daughters, being outdoors, exercising, working in the yard, learning new skills, and of course spending time with family.

I look forward to every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others!
